Double-Film Premiere in Saskatoon

Two Saskatchewan-made films will be premiering at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

The Saskatoon premiere event will include greetings from the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Industry Association, Q & A with the director and producers of Interpersonalities, and cast and crew will be in attendance.

Surveillance is an independent thriller set in the Nebraska plains and shot in Saskatchewan, directed by Jennifer Lynch and starring Julia Ormond, Bill Pullman, Michael Ironside and French Stewart. The film premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. It made history at the New York City Horror Film Festival when Lynch became the first female to win the Best Director award.

Interpersonalities is a psychological thriller that explores the puzzle of Multiple Personality Disorder, produced by Saskatoon-based Hulo Films, with writer Jason Young and director Aidin Nakhai, both from Saskatoon. The short film was shot almost entirely by a Saskatchewan cast and crew. Starring Saskatchewan actors Joshua Beaudry and Jessie Froese, and Gerald Lenton-Young (who also had a part in Surveillance). Interpersonalities recently wrapped up its international film festival run and is being broadcast on Movieola.

“We had a great festival run and now we are so excited to finally screen the film at home in Saskatoon,” said Stephen Huszar, producer of Interpersonalities.

“The theatrical premiere of Interpersonalities and Surveillance illustrates the growth and maturity of Saskatchewan’s film and television industry,” said Susanne Bell, CEO and Film Commissioner of SaskFilm. “By balancing our efforts to cultivate home-grown production and our ability to attract projects from the U.S. and abroad have earned Saskatchewan an enviable reputation in the production community worldwide.”

Following the premiere night, there will be screenings of Interpersonalities and Surveillance at the Broadway Theatre (Sept. 20 at 7pm, Sept. 22 at 7pm, Sept 23 at 9pm, Sept 24 at 7pm).
